Weight Loss Solutions

So congratulations. You've lost some weight. Now, how do you keep it off?
When you've spent weeks or even months striving and sacrificing, you don't want to have your spirits sink as you see the scale start to go up. For most of us, regardless of our weight loss method, weight regain is a real possibility. But is it inevitable?
Follow these five sure tricks, and your scale will stay put:
If you gain a pound, lose it. People who are successful at maintaining a weight loss weigh themselves at least twice a week. Pick regular times of day, and regular days of the week, to weigh and keep a chart. If you find you're up a pound or two, follow a healthy and structured food plan until the extra weight comes off again.
Have planned snacks instead of grazing. To combat rampant, spontaneous snacking, plan a couple of balanced snacks every day that you can measure out and enjoy. Be sure to include some protein and complex carbohydrates in your snack. If you feed yourself a bit more frequently, you will be less likely to graze mindlessly.
Balance your treats with healthy choices. You can have an occasional treat, but you can also have an occasional healthy choice. Keep the treat small so that you don't get a big sugar or unrefined carb rush. And if you must eat sugar or an unrefined carb, eat a little protein with it so that your blood sugar doesn't crash and cause cravings for more of the same.
Admit your trigger foods and avoid them. Most you have to do is look at certain foods and you know you'll eat them. Don't keep any snack foods in plain site around your house. Put them away. If you find yourself going to the cupboard or refrigerator to peruse the snack items, you'll need to keep the trigger foods out of your house altogether.
Experhyment and use the tools that work for you. Several dieters hate the act of writing down what they eat. Some dislike exercise. Others abhor weighing and measuring their food. Still others will not give up sugar and unrefined carbs. You need to be honest with yourself, though. These tools are proven to work. So, experhyment with all the tools available to you and use the ones that work.
Weight regain is not inevitable, but you need to take action to avoid it. Apply these solutions to your life and you will find weight maintenance to be simple and satisfying.

Running Weight Loss

Posted under Running For Weight Loss by admin on Tuesday 1 May 2012 at 8:34 am

I'm trying to lose a little weight which I'm doing through diet and exercise, especially running. I've recently decided to take it up and I'm doing really well in it. I got $100 for my birthday from my boyfriend and I thought I should put some of it towards something that will help my weight loss and/or my running habit. So any suggestions under $100 I'm open to. Thanks =]. After looking around, I learned — Have you tried this already?

Running Weight Loss Program

Posted under Running For Weight Loss by admin on Wednesday 25 April 2012 at 6:26 am

I want to lose about 40 lbs. I've started an interval running program six days a week. I do 2. 5-3 miles all day. I also do strength training all other day and elliptical for 30 min all day. I can feel my endurance building and the muscles building in my legs. I know I am building muscle right now, but how long before the fat starts coming off too. I think I found an answer. Fat starts coming off immediately. How long before you actually see results will depend on the intensity of your exercies and, more importantly, your diet. Many people who are trying to lose weight make some pretty big mistakes when they start an exercise plan – They think they need energy to work out so they have a 300 calorie power bar and drink 150 calories in a sports drink. They just consumed more than they burned during their 30 minute work out. So track what goes in as well as what goes out to make sure you are burning more than you are consuming. Don't starve yourself, as you need food for energy, but you have to eat right. Since you want to lose 40 pounds I assume you are overweight (no offense). I was in the same boat and I actually found that working out gave me more energy and I guess my body was using my fat stores. I wound up eating less when I was losing weight than I do now just trying to maintain the weight loss. To finally answer your question, if you eat right and work out hard then you should visibly see some results in a couple of weeks, and each week the scale should should show you dropping as much as 3 to 4 pounds. That number will go down as you lose weight. The first 25 pounds will be much easier to lose than the last 15 but seeing the results will keep you motivated to keep going. For the record, when I was 60 pounds overweight it took 6 weeks to lose 30 pounds, another 6 to lose 17 more, and then 6 more weeks to lose 9 more pounds. I lost a few more pounds but it is a bit of a struggle to keep it off. I worked twice a day for those 18 weeks, about 40 to 70 minutes each session.
