I recently decided I wanted to run to lose some of the weight I have built up during high school. I am 16 and weigh 110lbs. I want to lose at least 5lbs by no given time, I just want to lose it. With school starting it will be hard to find a time to run because I dont want to run in the morning and if I run at night I would just put it off so much that it is dark by the time I got around to it, so the only other option is right after school? How many hours should I run a day? What kind of running should I do? Should I run around a track or on the sidewalk? Any other info would help Also I would often have some fabulous good abs, any ideas on how to get that? I tried to put this in fitness but it got spammed with people advertising their weight loss pills. What I found out was – first of all, if your 16 and 110 lbs dont worry about losing weight, I get made fun of because im skinny and im 140 lbs. If your looking to run I would suggest joining the track or cross country team, if you dont have a team then training with a partner is better. I run for a high school team and when I start up I do a week of 20 minutes and then increase 5 minutes each day until I get to about 30-40 minutes, thats when I start my workouts. Never run more than an hour if your new to running, the most ive ever done was 13 miles and it took me a little under an hour and a half. Dont try to run around a track because it gets boring. We do workouts on the track called tempo runs which are beneficial but also boring. After 4 miles on the track at 5:45 pace, you never want to see a track again. Most towns will have a trail system and if they dont then run on the roads and an ipod, it mixes things up, Dont be afraid to get lost. As for the abs, most runners have a 6 pack just from being skinny and running, it would come over time
